16’: Antony takes a shot at goal, not enough power on it, easy save for Foderingham.

17’: Antony fires wide by a lot.

21’: Onana is down. Medics looking at him. Looks like he’s going to stay in for the moment.

24’: SAVE! Cameron Archer fires from distance through the legs of Maguire but Onana is alert and keeps it out!

28’: GOAL MAN U!! Scott McTominay chests the ball up in the air, somehow adjusts to make the volley, it deflects and takes the keeper flat-footed!

31’: PENALTY FOR SHEFFIELD UNITED! McTominay the goal-scorer penalized for handball!

34’: GOAL SHEFFIELD UNITED! Oli McBurnie smashes it in off the inside of the post!

44’: Bruno Fernandes takes a free kick and hits the top of the crossbar!

45’: Auston Trusty carded for preventing Rashford from taking a quick throw-in

45+3’: SAVE! The ball deflects out to Højlund! He fires quickly but Foderingham was also off his line quickly and makes himself big to make the save.

HT Sheffield United 1-1 Manchester United Tied at the break but gotta say, Man U do not look like the better side.

51’: Sheffield United substitution: Rhian Brewster on for Oli McBurnie who comes off gingerly

55’: Mixup in the back for Sheffield United! Foderingham and Trusty don’t link up and Rashford takes the pass, but the shot from Højlund is saved.

58’: MISS! Rashford puts it just a hair wide of the far corner!

62’: Vinícius Costa slides in late on Antony

63’: Man U triple sub: Alejandro Garnacho, Christian Eriksen and Anthony Martial on for Antony, Scott McTominay and Rasmus Højlund

66’: Hamer fires a wild shot into the stands.

67’: Amrabat fires a thunderbolt and hits the crossbar!! They pick up the rebound but Fernandes puts it wide!

77’: GOAL MAN U!! Diogo Dalot fires a speculative effort from distance and it turns out beautifully! Comes right off the keeper’s fingertips into the net!

82’: Jonny Evans seems to have hurt himself committing a tactical foul

84’: Man U substitution: Raphaël Varane on for Jonny Evans

84’: Sheffield United substitution: Bénie Traoré on for Gustavo Hamer

87’: Foderingham flat-footed again as the shot comes in but Garnacho only ripples the wrong side of the net.

90+1’: Garnacho puts his shot wide! Offside anyway but that was a bad miss.

insane that united are only 6 points off city given how truly awful they’ve been this season

        I’ll just leave this here:

"Ferguson was appointed manager of Manchester United on 6 November 1986, replacing the sacked Ron Atkinson. His first years were not easy and were marked by inconsistency. In previous seasons, United were a regular in the top 4, while under Ferguson they mainly finished in the bottom half of the table, although they achieved second place in the 1987/88 season.

The 1989/90 season was a low point: United only finished 13th. City rival Manchester City, among others, lost with a heavy 5-1 score. The supporters became cynical and the press insinuated that Ferguson’s dismissal was not far away. However, Matt Busby, United’s successful manager in the 1950s and 1960s, recommended that the board leave him in his position, which was done. This was also due to the somewhat surprising FA Cup win that season: the first trophy that United won under Ferguson."

League is a long run man. Let’s see in Jan where do the teams stand. I feel city will still run away with the title

They look as vulnerable as they have in a long while, but I don’t think anyone should be expecting us to be the team which catches up to them lol
