Vini and Rodrygo are a problem. People are singling Rodry out, but Vini wasn’t any better. VIni also straight up plays like a left winger, even if he is supposed to be a striker, he does not unterstand what he is supposed to do and Rodrygo just gets lost roaming all over the pitch, trying to get involved. It is so bad.

Both are out of form (a bit more understandable for vini since he recently came back from an injury) but it doesn’t help that both are also playing out of position and are still not used to the new formation

Vini is not playing out of position, check his heatmap. He is literally playing like a left winger, even though he is not supposed to. That is one of the reasons why our entire structure in attack was so ass today. Earlier in the season he played more inside, but if the game doesn’t go his way, he just defaults back to doing what he knows and sits by the sideline, waiting for the ball. Rodrygo is wandering around trying to get involved, because jude plays on the left side too. Our right side was completely dead after Fede came off, which was just a wierd as fuck sub.

Vini isn’t playing out of position but it’s not the same as when he was the designated LW. Because when he was a LW, Benzema used to play as a striker and create space by drawing defenders to him.

That just doesn’t happen right now and Vini has to get past 3 different players. That’s simply not something any player can do consistently.

Right now he couldn’t even get past grandpa Jesus Navas. Sorry but he is even worse than Rodrygo in overall play, he just has been better and luckier in front of goal, yet the fan base sort of giving him a pass while shit on Rodrygo.

              It is stupid.

I mean what do you expect of two players who are both young and suddenly forced to play as strikers when neither of them played that role?

People give Vini a pass because he has shown how impactful of a player he is for this team. Him and Benz were carrying Madrid up front at one point. Furthermore everyone always talks about how Rodrygo is more adaptable than Vini, yet they’re pretty much in the same boat and lastly Vini just got back from an injury.

Rodrygo wasn’t able to shine as a false nine in a 433, what makes you think he’ll be a good striker in a 442?

Last note but Navas was playing out of his mind.

                People give Vini a pass

I don’t live in the past, he is not any better than Rodrygo right now, he should be judged the same way. They need to adapt and the quicker the better, otherwise we are fucked this season. Rodrygo played a month as a 2nd striker with a free role behind Joselu, he still couldn’t finish any chances. That is supposed to be his favorite position by his own admission, playing behind a striker.

Stop making excuses for them. Just stop.

I mean you keep saying “they need to adapt.”

But you do understand there is a very good chance they will never adapt. This is not FIFA or FM. You can’t just play a player in a completely different role and expect them to excel if at all play well in it. Neither Vini nor Rodrygo are strikers. Not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo and can make the switch.

Yeah vini was bad but rodry was straight up occupying his space and playing as the lw when he is supposed to play as a RW

Both of them are supposed to play as a striker, with licence to roam around. Vini goes to the touch line like he is a left winger, Bellingham is playing on that side aswell, so Rodrygo goes there also, just to get involved. The entire structure was fucked today.

Sevilla played well in the second half, but it’s hard not to be frustrated with that result.

Ref should never have stopped the counterattack that ended in Bellingham’s goal in the first half. And his whistle didn’t even affect play. The ball was already released on the counter when he blew. It wasn’t a bad injury.

And then not giving the penalty for Navas taking down Vini in the box is just inexplicable. That’s a foul every single time, and they didn’t even go to VAR.

Well played by Sevilla, 1 point at the Pizjuan isn’t the end of the world.

Vinicious is not the kind of player you can build your team around or become a target man. He best performs when played as a service provider and score whenever he gets a chance.
