There are concerns the technology could wipe out humanity and the risk should be treated with the same urgency as pandemics or nuclear war, but are our fears based too much on what we've seen in films?

      The point is that the public is more concerned about some things shown in sci-fi movies (that can still happen, true) and not more realistic ones such as deepfakes and misinformation campaigns run by bots that you can’t distinguish from humans.

    All I know is that the longer I live the more SciFi and speculative fiction become reality.

    We either get to star trek or we get to skynet.
