    I think this statistic can be a bit misleading. It would be more interesting to see a statistic from when Simeone took over.

    From making his debut in 2009. He would have missed more games than he played from 2009 to 2012, when Atletico were pretty rubbish and would have a fairly low win ratio. In fact he probably missed more games from 2009-2012 than he did from 2012-2023. So most of his missed games are from pre Simeone and about 90% of the games he played would be under Simeone

    still underrated, definitely the best non-Barcelona or Madrid midfielder in the league of the last 15 years (maybe Parejo is close? but that’s it)
