    I didn’t see it mentioned in the article, but does anyone know if they’re still doing that weird on-call bullshit instead of actually hiring people full time?

    Obviously not being paid enough (it mentions deckhands are paid 25% less than what Seaspan offers) is the big issue, but I wonder how many people would accept the current wage if they had reliable/steady hours instead of being hired on an on-call/call-in basis?

    I don’t think I’ve seen a paper ticket - only receipts - since forever. What’s he talking about?

    Are we talking about foot passengers? If Air Canada can allocate a single bored (unpaid, as it turns out) F-A to check tickets, I think BCFC can do the same.

    Hey, remember when the water trade routes were grouped-in with the overland trade routes and run by the same ministry instead of this for-profit mess? Good times.
