    Converting to green energy can hardly proceed in recession triggered by oil price shock, so this is necessary.

    The demand is gonna be whatever the demand is gonna be. Would you rather the supply be from the United States (with some of the lowest per barrel extracted emissions) or from Russia?

      Probably because oil exports are high. And prices are up significantly around the globe. Why make gas cheaper for your country when you can make more money overseas?
