I’ve tried out NADDPOD, TAZ and am currently listening to one in the Stars Without Number universe called Astronomica which is pretty funny.
Wondering what else is good out there
I’d recommend the Glass Cannon Podcast: https://www.glasscannonnetwork.com/shows/the-glass-cannon-podcast
It’s a Pathfinder actual play podcasts that’s on the crunchier side with some fun comedy moments.
They also have a lot of RPG content on their YouTube (check out their Traveller podcast “Voyagers of the Jump”: https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLz3Be--ot61P_-ge1l71k7ps4y8U12H4A )
Making my way through Dimension 20 at the moment. Brennan Lee Mulligan is a great DM.
I really enjoy Dungeon Master of None. It’s not an actual play, but rather GM advice, reviews, and adventure design. It’s fun, funny, & engaging.
I highly recommend NPC D&D from the same guys from Viva la Dirt League.
They do a lot of sketch comedy based around games on their main channel, especially about mmos with their “Epic NPC man” series, and they used the same universe from their skits as the setting for their D&D games, which has been awesome.
They’re super fun to watch and their DM is amazing as well. They even do little skits dressed as their characters in every episode, about any interesting moments from their table session!
I also like how they release episodes in weekly, bite sized, edited 30min videos, which i find much easier to consume than your average 3+ hours unedited dnd podcast.
It is truly a gem and i’ve no idea how they’re not more popular.
Path of Night as someone who is obsessed with Vampire: the Masquerade, who has been all-in on trying to find a serious horror live-play. The cast does a wonderful job selling the universe. All the meta-plot is gracefully woven in and both the narrative and players do a great job of putting you somewhere dark and frightening. Honestly? The production is so high quality that you could be forgiven thinking it could be White Wolf RPG’s flagship podcast, as Critical Role has been to D&D. Killer music too.
Find the Path Podcast is the best I’ve found, full stop. There are still laughs, but they aren’t the cheap one liners so nauseatingly prevalent in so many other actual play podcasts I’ve tried. Instead the focus is on the story, characters, and world around them.
Truly a unique and wonderful experience.
It’s Pathfinder 1e and 2e. Production value is very high generally. Audiophile quality these days, though even in the first few episodes the audio is done well.
I’d recommend you to at least listen to the first season of the adventure zone.
Yeah, I could never really get into the other seasons after the first.
Same! The first was just too good. I heard they were doing a Season 1 backstory season though. Might wanna get back to that sometime.
