    Chains are good because they distribute the torque across multiple gear teeth. This doesn’t, so I imagine the wear on the drive gear would be much greater, especially since the teeth are smaller. Overall not impressed.

      There are plenty of motorcycles have shaft drives. I think they will be able to make a shaft that handles the torque of a person peddling

    Will there ever be a bevel gear drive shaft on a mass production bicycle? The shaft and supporting structure has to be really ridigd to keep the gears meshing properly. That means more weight and more expensive. Also, expensive replacement parts.
