@OpenSource @selfhosted Is there a way to move all my data off Facebook and import it into my #friendica instance? That would include my posts, pictures, videos etc?
if enough people are looking for this (and are willing to provide anonymized examples of what facebook’s data export looks like) I might be willing to write a script for it, same with any other platform!

I don’t think you can move your data off Facebook, but you can make a copy of it and transfer it to another service.

The API no longer allows programmatic access to a user’s friends list. Technically you could make some sort of browser script to automate gathering a list of friends, but you can no longer get contact information for those same friends automatically. The next best thing you can do is post your friendica profile to your feed, and encourage your friends to join.
