This is such a great game, especially considering that its base gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. Platforming is lackluster at best, while combat is repetitive and downright frustrating at times. Still I fell in love with it the first time I rented it, and replay it every few years. The overall concept, branching upgrade paths, grinding but not too much grinding, different areas accessed by different evolution paths driving replay value… all of it hits just right.
