Wheein. Actual, real talent as a singer and dancer.
I love 2PM’s Junho. He’s an amazing singer and my favourite actor. He is so talented and works so hard. He practiced speaking English a lot and he’s improved so much!
i really appreciate when idols put effort into learning the languages where their fans are from. shows dedication and appreciation. plus english is such a difficult language to learn
Oh yes! And he got so good that he’s pretty easy to understand, without a heavy accent, and he’s even been speaking English in his dramas. I love that kind of effort!
For a group, it’s EXO. For an individual, it’s Kai.
Really, EXO’s music just fits what I’m looking for in music. With the exception of EXO-SC, they have maybe five songs in their entire discography of group, subunits, and solos that I dislike.
Watching Kai dance is like watching poetry in motion. I’m mesmerized every time he takes the stage. I’m very lucky to have seen him three times in concert.
I was introduced to Kai when Momo and him did the Rover challenge. Damn does that guy have total control over his body.
I’m going to break the rules, but in good conscience, I can’t have just one. So I have three that share the gauntlet: Yoohyeon from Dreamcatcher, Sana from Twice, and Yuqi from (G)I-DLE.
Dreamcatcher is my favorite group, and Yoohyeon was a big reason why. She speaks English EXTREMELY well, and that fact really helped me with bridging the gap between k-pop and where I live. She also seems very personable, she always stood out to me during variety. On top of all of that, I’ve seen her perform live and her stage presence and vocals are off the charts!
Sana just has the most contagious personality I’ve ever seen. Her bubbly personality is infectious, and I can’t help but smile at her antics. I definitely watch clips of her whenever I’m having a bad day, just so things don’t seem so dreadful that day.
Yuqi is similar in Sana in that they have extremely fun personalities - except Yuqi is more chaotic. I’m definitely envious of how unafraid Yuqi is, she’s always willing to put herself in situations where normal people would be awkward. She embraces chaos, and that always allows for good content.
On top of all that, all three of them have visuals that blow me away.

Mine is Taemin. To me, his artistry is on a whole other level. He has such control over his body and can convey so much with so little. I can’t speak for his passion levels these days but he is so dedicated to his craft, it’s inspiring. His discography is amazing. I am a sucker for his darker, avante garde musical aesthetic. I respect him so much as a musician and a dancer.
It also helps that he is super relatable, hilariously awkward at times, funny, and very beautiful. I think a part of it too is that I also can’t help but feel for the guy. Idk why this is a factor but being in the industry for so long and at such a young age, is just kinda heartbreaking? He has stuck with this for half his life and has gone through so much, I can’t help but root for him. I’ll support him through whatever he does (as long as it’s not morally objectional). I just have an overwhelming desire for him (and the rest of SHINee) to be happy in life.
I got to see Taemin perform Sayonara Hitori once.
That man is a treasure to watch.
