I mostly bounce between local and subscribed myself with a dash of all now and then to see if there’s anything new and interesting out there. Need to fill up my dub list a bit after all!

Subscribed, new comments. It’s the perfect combo as it shows me new posts but also ones getting recent action.

I do regularly flip to local or all just because it’s fun to stumble across random new stuff, and also because I’m not subbed to many actually big communities (yet).

I switch between all 3, mostly in new or hot. Not that much in “all”, just to see what’s going on in other instances and to see if I want to sub to a new community that I might find.

Subscribed - new. But I often also browse in the other options cause it’s fun and exciting to see more content and every time it is a bit of a surprise what I find there.

I mostly switch between subscribed and new all. Still on the lookout for new communities but I bet in a few weeks I’ll likely stay on subscribed forever like I do on Reddit.

Local, sorted by new, then swapping to Subscribed if I wanna see if there’s any movement in the non-Beehaw communities I’ve linked up with. Thankfully, I’m trying to wean myself off the “Ooo! New thing!” rush that social media’s trapped me in for years and this is a good way to step down instead of trying to go cold turkey.

Since I’m hosting my own, I have it set to subscribed, which is not much different than “All” for me.

The Mlem app allowed me to “Favorite” a few core communities. So I’m bouncing between those and the “All” view to try to keep tabs on which communities are picking up steam.

Righ now I try to look more at all post to find new communities. Also, local and subscribed communities are almost identical for me and not a lot is happening.

I hope to find the “core communities” so to speak, but I’m afraid that everyone wants to do the same thing, so no community persists, if that makes sense. It will probably take a bit more time.

So I just try to look at as much as possible

    Local

I’m sorting by New and watching what comes through to see what I want to ensure I’m subscribed to as well as what to block. I’ll likely stay on local most of the time.

I find All to be jarring when several posts load from other instances and only switch to it when exploring other community options.
