For casual magic my favorite has been draft and cEDH. You can get some pre-cons for cEDH commander relatively cheap. For 100 cards, if your building it yourself its difficult to build less than $30 USD or so. But possible. I have a slew of decks around ~$40 USD, and Commanders Quarters on YouTube has many examples.
I have a ton of fun playing 2-4 people commander games with buddies, and we all play around pre-con or a modified pre-con power level and have a good time. Sometimes I venture out to card shops and play games with my decks, and I’m usually not completely trounced, so that’s a plus.
