Clarification of the comments from the recent speech. Apparently if you don‘t already own a home, not only is it your fault, but you will not be rewarded for your failure to work hard by the President doing anything to lower prices.
Thank you President Trump, this is the scolding and blaming the workers of America needed.

“People that own their homes, we’re gonna keep them wealthy. We’re gonna keep those prices up,” he said. “We’re not gonna destroy the value of their homes so that somebody who didn’t work very hard can buy a home.”
Stepping back a bit, he added, “We’re gonna make it easier to buy, we’re gonna get interest rates down, but I wanna protect the people that, for the first time in their lives, feel good about themselves. They feel like, you know, that they’re wealthy people.”
Trump then circled back to his plan to increase housing costs: “There’s so much talk about, ‘Oh, we’re gonna drive housing prices down.’ I don’t wanna drive housing prices down, I wanna drive housing prices up for people that own their homes, and they can be assured that’s what’s gonna happen.”

Home ownership being turned into a vehicle for retirement savings turned a critical resource into a big dumb prisoners dilemma.
sigh I really hate when rich people conflate poverty with not working very hard.
My shift lasts five hours, I get paid 17 dollars for each of those five. Whether I’m doing the bare minimum or working my fingers to the bone doesn’t change things. Even if I wanted to work harder, I’m only doing what’s in scope. That’s not a me thing, that’s a “The company will get mad at you if you do this” thing.
I don’t know why they think there’s some magical extra revenue stream I’ll get by putting my back into it.
