    Can i skip attack sequences? I want to play the original again, but i do not want to watch 500+ shiva and iffrit attacks

    Edit: OK OK OK, i will use them less on my playthrougjh…

      summons aren’t the optimal play anyway - you ahould get better at optimizing support materia and using items.

      e.g. 4x Cut + Counter, Added Cut + Deathblow, Added Effect + Contain, Magic Counter + Restore.

      The best use of summon is final attack + Phoenix

      I honestly believe that was part of the “balance” of things.

      If you used KotR for every random encounter, you’d bore yourself. So instead, you use attacks, simple magic, etc.

      If it’s based on the console ports, there may be a fast forward function. Played it on Switch and that was very handy.

    I’m still trying to figure out the why. The port wasn’t bad. I had the PC version and the audio sucked hard. The graphics at least scaled somewhat but iirc it was only for D3D and not OpenGL. Keyboard support was better but that was about it.

    This press release mentions nothing about gameplay changes, system optimizations, modernizations, etc. just “it’s gonna be switched”. I’m wondering if a license for something with the port ran out and they’re trying to reuse their old assets?
