I finally saved up enough shop tickets for the 7-cards display board!

I have also just obtained May, and happened to have high-rarity cards of some of her pokemons, so naturally there’s only one thing to do.

I fucking love pokemon lore. I want to fucking recreate canonical teams for pokemon characters.

There is no one true team for May that is common across the game, anime and manga, so I took some liberties mixing her cross-media pokemons (really just choosing the ones I have full-arts of; no venusaur😭)

No full-art version of Skitty has been released just yet, but it is too iconic to leave out😔

    Looks like people appreciate pokemon lore. I’ve been getting the most showcase likes from non-friends to-date since showcasing this May display board.

      I can’t speak for everyone but as someone who loved the OG games and hasn’t kept up with the show or other games and the associated lore, these posts are great!

      It’s nice to learn about all the careful consideration and detail they’ve put into the stories. It’s always been the artwork that caught my attention but knowing the extra details about why some of them are special is really cool. Thanks for taking the time to put these posts and card collections together!

        Same here to be honest 😅 I had to look up the wiki pages of these new characters and mons.

        Going forward, I’m thinking of doing some crossposts with the main pokemon community - I am guessing that’s where the more serious pokemon fans are - to do some board-building together.

        For example, I am unsure of which 6 pokemons should go on Lana’s team. In the anime, she has plenty of ride pokemons in addition to her main team, but somehow she’s missing her signature Araquanid!

          Lemmy is driven by content, just like everything else lol. The more exposure you can get the more likely you are to find others that are interested and knowledgeable about pokemon, or anything else for that matter. I’m sure there are people on Lemmy who are into it, but getting them to engage with you can be like pulling teeth hahaha.
