In addition to the advantage mentioned by Zak, it also depends on the usage. A flashlight that I need every evening (dog walks) is easier to charge with the magnetic charger. Not great for the battery, but I prefer to have a fully charged flashlight when I start my walk.
@solrize@flashlight The Skilhunt EC series has offered USB-C for several years now. I’d actually prefer the magnetic charging for a light I’m using in a harsh environment as it’s more waterproof.
USB-C rechargeable instead of using a silly special dongle, Good on Skilhunt for finally waking up to this.

Drop in chargers are also nice for that. Otoh people charge their phones with USB-C daily and that works ok I hope.
