Sure, just pointing out that her being 16 is not the issue from a legal standpoint.

For sure, but it’s still not helpful for his case. It’s one of those things where it’s legal but heavily frowned upon by people. That isn’t the first impression you want to give a jury of your peers, especially if you’re accused of sexually assaulting that 16 year old.

‘full legal adult’ is something a child would say. That is In your moral opinion, legally it’s irrelevant which is what the top comment was discussing.

Are you insinuating that if she was 2 years older than it’s totally okay? It’s the arbitrary number of her age vs another as opposed to the differences in their ages?

      Such a bizarre concept.

It is very legally relevant that she was above the age of giving consent but not an adult in the eyes of the law. Which opens up a completely separate question of reduced age of consent laws even make any legal sense, but that’s a different discussion.

It would still be really fucking creepy if she was 18, but there’s certainly a difference. You’re right that it’s an arbitrary number, but that doesn’t change that we’ve arbitrarily decided that someone is a minor until they’re 18. An adult would understand that something being arbitrary does not make it irrelevant or something to dismiss.

Frankly, significant age differences are really fucking creepy. It still says something however if you’re a grown ass adult and you’re dating someone who’s a minor above the age of consent.

Read a couple of case law studies and watch some how tos on YouTube about whatever judicial system your country has and come back when you know what you’re talking about.

          Best of luck.
