So, going back to The Batman animated series (2004-2008), Joker had one of his most radical redesigns - wild green dreadlocks, barefoot, hunched over, with a straitjacket-inspired outfit.

Instead of being the refined, sharp-dressed clown prince of crime, this version leaned more into a feral, unpredictable, almost animalistic vibe.

I’m curious what you all thought of this take at the time (or if you’ve gone back and rewatched it recently).

Was it refreshing?

Too weird?

Or maybe underrated?

B.) Do you think this version of Joker could work in Gunn’s DCU?

Could this chaotic, physical, and feral version of Joker be interesting as either:

The Prime Joker of the DCU, giving us something distinct from Nicholson, Ledger, Phoenix, and Leto…

or

maybe as an alternate reality version of the character (Elseworlds/52-style), if Gunn ever plays with multiverse storylines?
