So I searched this for quite some time and found that women don’t have any specific dress code during ihram unlike men.
They are only told to not cover their faces and hands, and cover the awrah.
That’s it.
When it come to salah there is a hadith that says salah isn’t accepted without a khimar so arguments can be laid out about covering the head being a requirement of Salah, but for hajj no such hadith exists and only covering the awrah is required.
But according to progressives awrah of women is different from the traditionalist interpretation.
Head, neck, arms etc aren’t included in awrah.
So doesn’t that mean women are technically allowed to perform hajj without wearing the hijab and abaya (but can’t due to Saudi law)?
