I learned quite a bit after painting my first project, and this one ended up turning out much better. The main lessons were to paint in layers and the masking tape from Hobby Lobby sucks. I painted everything but the white armor.

The texture of the paint actually goes hard
I really like 3M green automotive masking tape
I use Tamiya now, which works well. I’ve seen others say 3M is good, too.
It has its place. It leaves a fat edge if you ar trying to use it for partial panels
