    That statement completely misses the point

    It isn’t ok to take hostages. Genocide is certainly worse but that is not setting the bar high.

      Do you think they took hostages in a vacuum? You certainly understand cause and effect right?

      Also love how you are comparing genocide to taking hostages (or even October 7th) as if they are in the same league.

        I don’t really understand the logic here. Why are you defining Hamas?

        I’m not comparing taking hostages to genocide. I’m saying taking hostages is wrong.

          You said, “…that is not setting the bar high.” as if kidnapping and genocide are close on some scale.

          The genocide was happening before October 7th. And the genocide is why October 7th happened. I’m not “defending” I’m explaining why what you said doesn’t make sense.

          Israel was already limiting the amount of goods coming into Palestine before October 7th and I quote “putting them on a diet”. Israels plan is to get rid of Palestinians, it always was.

          Hamas tried to give the hostages back and Israel stopped that from happening. So I don’t think it would make a difference, Israels government doesn’t care about the hostages, they have literally killed them.
