I know it’s probably not a common thing for someone to want, but some people play on handhelds with 4:3 displays (Retroid Pocket 2+/2S), CRTs, etc. I’m just curious if 4:3 patches exist or could be made for emulated PSP games.

Those patches are normally crafted for ultrawide experience, where they force render sections outside of the camera’s FOV onto the screen, so I doubt there’s any that’s intentionally for 4:3, which could cut off parts of the UI.
However, if you start the game and go to PPSSPP menu, and choose “Display layout & effects”, you can adjust the aspect ratio, stretching, or resize the screen, maybe that could help you running the game on 4:3 displays?
There’s a github issue thread about it, some people have custom shader for it, but I’m not sure if it’s gonna end up cutting off some parts of the UI.
