Unofficial thread. But thought may as well have a space.
Imagine a Spurs supporter who wasn’t able to watch the game. They didn’t have to watch this awful game but still get the emotion of a big trophy win!
Dream night
Ange Postecoglou said he always wins something in his second season.
He is a man of his word.
Tottenham have beaten Manchester United 1-0. They have won the Europa League.
Their 17-year trophy drought is 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿.
The two teams taking Johan Cruyff’s line that “football is a game of mistakes” a bit far.
What else would you expect from 17th vs 16th
Did beat athletic club man
The Europa buff doesn’t apply when playing a team in the same league
First half impressions:
- manic energy
- both goalkeepers looking vulnerable
- United’s back three quite composed amid chaos
- Porro’s deliveries a real threat
- Amad changing momentum of play in seconds
- 20 mins of good Tottenham press
A goal worthy of this game
Shame on every UEL team to allow this final.
I didn’t feel watching the final today, how was it ?
The single worst European final I’ve seen in my life. Terrible quality of football. The goal summarises the games quality. Van de Ven had an elite clearance tho, best part of the game
I see, thanks for the info!
Ange hasn’t been so overwhelmed with emotion since Eastenders 1986 Christmas special.
Sad for casemiro only. Glad utd lost otherwise
Utd really improved after about 55 mins
Just a heads up that there is live thread of the game already in the sub
Wait what. I looked for it and couldn’t find it
Two posts below
Brennan Johnson’s opener means Manchester United have now fallen behind first 31 times in all competitions this season, more than any other Premier League side.
Under Ruben Amorim alone, it’s happened 26 times out of 41 matches.
LOL
Boulahrouz and Van Basten agreed we might as well be looking at a Premier League game between number 16 and 17
I watch the laliga every week. And the UCL midweeks. I’m obsessed with Spanish football and avoid the English league.
I did not quite understand just how bad these two were. I saw utd v athletic club and they looked so much better. But their individual quality is a bottom half team for sure.
It’s next to impossible to follow foreign leagues in the Netherlands if you want proper service.
Serie A they will do about 80% of the matches, and with godawful commentary.
La Liga you’ll catch the top half of the table teams and teams with Dutch players like Girona.
Portuguese competition you’ll get Sporting and Benfica if you’re lucky and nothing else is on.
Bundesliga and Premier League rights are owned by Viaplay which is beyond a horrible company and their commentary is next level bad.
Piracy is just too much of a hassle for these leagues. Riddled with ads, websites with malicious content, constant connection interrupts…
I’ve taken to just following the Dutch league.
totalsportek.at plus adbock on firefox.
Never seen an ad. Better streaming than the official source. Gxr is the official broadcaster here and its terrible.
Ive used this for very long. Many seasons.
Having said that the Dutch league is fun. I followed it very closely from 2018-2021. To the point that I was watching jong ajax and fell in love with gravenberch
Thanks for the link, I’ll check it out sometime.
My issue isn’t as much with the coverage, it’s more about that broadcast rights are exclusive so if you don’t like something about it, you’re SOL.
Yeah we can’t do anything about coverage. Only access.
And let’s never speak of this again.
