Yup. The US lumber behemoth that’s behind the battle is strong, but US lumber cannot be compared to Canadian lumber as a building material. Because our winters are shorter = smaller growth rings = less warpage and greater strength. US builders prefer that for obvious reasons.
Never mind the fact the softwood lumber mess in the early 2000s through to early 2010s cost Canadian lumber workers thousand of jobs and shut dozen of mills across Canada. The mill I worked at is gone now.
