the show that was built on a solid foundation special effects wise but ultimately so very very disappointing with their grade A shit tier spin on one of my favorite stories
disregard the story and add another endless boring melee fighting scene with unloveable botched characters pls
asimov wrote so many good and popular books with well crafted stories but nobody dares to just follow that story or even the bare minimum of its vibe/theme
they should add the most obnoxious product placement to send it home just like in iRobot
Haven’t read the books, but my understanding was that the whole “the emperor is three clones of the first emperor at three different stages of life” thing was one of the additions that weren’t in the books… And that was my favorite part. The rest was meh.
Which is too bad because they could have used that concept in a new IP and done some really cool shit.
Yeah, I felt the same. The best part of the show is the Genetic Dynasty. I only read the first book and it did not feature that.
TBH Asimovs books are just men in rooms smoking cigars and talking how their plans went perfectly.

nah. there is much they could show. but building many different sets is costly. there is plenty of films that are narrative heavy and still good. but the showrunners seem to think the viewer gets bored if they dont have a bunch of idiots beat each other on the floor for 5 minutes straight every second scene. thats probably cheap to make too
