It seems people are upvoting this because they see Bernie and assume that OP has good intentions here.
Op cited a legitimate source below with good context. All that said, the poorly clipped video snippet of Bernie saying something that seems innocuous, but flies in the face of reality without EXTENSIVE discussion and explanation (like in OP’s video), is not being shared in good faith. The forum Bernie and AOC shared was not the place for nuanced rhetoric. OP knows this.
OP is doing the old bait and switch here.
Nothing was clipped out of context.
Bernie Sanders is very clearly disagreeing with Franscesa Albanese. Am I missing something?
Yes. A lot. Bernie sanders isn’t going to go into the nuances and issues with trying to convince 36,000+ people in a crowd why “Hamas isn’t a state” and why it’s not technically a “war.”
You’re being obtuse in assuming that he should. You’re also generating dissent through a deceptively short video that doesn’t present the comments which led up to that snippet of a sentence, or what he said afterward.
So, what you’re missing is fairness, context, nuance, and probably honesty.
Nobody mentioned any of these things. Nor are they relevant.
Have you watched what Francesca Albanese said? Bernie Sanders directly contradicts her.
Bernie did not say anything after this which changes him disagreeing with Francesca. The clip is the full context.
Yes. I did. You know what else is relevant? She wasn’t there in that moment. READ WHAT I SAID.
He can’t deliver that nuance to 36,000 people in the moment. Get out of here with your bear baiting. It’s disingenuous.
You misunderstand. This is not about Bernie denying there is a genocide going on which he did a bit later in the video.
This is about Bernie directly contradicting international law, by ascibing a beligirent occupier the right to self defense which it does legally not have.
That is not nuanced, that is advocating for violation of international law on behalf of Israel.
Trust me, I’m “getting it.”
That is great. Now we are both in agreement that Bernie Sanders advocates against international law.

There are no lies. Unless you mean Bernie Sanders is lying about international law.
Nice four seconds video, I guess? Very smooth how it cuts off mid-sentence, not weird at all.
I like how we can feel completely confident that no valuable context is lost, and that it allows us to quickly reach our conclusions and move on with our lives. Whoever has an attention span greater than four seconds these days anyway.
Sir Mixalot salivates at the big but about to drop.
You were right, he does drop a big BUT right after the clip ends 🤣
The ACTUAL context is right here

“Trump wants over 8 Billion more dollars to go to Netanyahu’s war machine. Israel has a right to defend itself against terrorism, BUT, it does not have a right to go to war against the entire Palestinian people! It does not have the right to kill over 50,000 people, injure over 100,000, and destroy the entire infrastructure. And as bad as that as, Trump wants to expel the over 2.2 million people in Gaza in order to create a playground for his billionaire friends! That is beyond insane and we will never, never let that happen!”
So why did you feel the need to clip a very suspicious 4 second video, buddy?
Nothing you added here changes anything nor does it add context.
It only shows Bernie refuses to call it a genocide. And Bernie tries to frame the ethnic cleansing plan by Israel as a ‘fringe idea from Trump and his billionaire friends.’
Please watch this video for once and respond to the argument
Why did you feel the need to clip a sus 4 second video?
Because it shows Bernie Sanders does not agree with international law.
Did you wish to debate Bernie Sanders denying there is a genocide going on in Gaza?
You know why
The only thing Bernie & AOC want to inspire is shepherding people back to the Democrats. They’re actively working against progress.
Wow, you must be so trustworthy with all those removed comments. Totally the common sense bot over here…
People don’t like when you comment with facts on the Ukraine proxy war. I just point them to Jeffrey Sachs, who’s been deeply involved from the start, but mods prefer the State Dept propaganda not be challenged in most communities.
