Google Maps/Waze turned a street my wife played basketball and hockey in in the 90s into a 1/4 mile top speed test for people looking to shave 1-2 minutes off going through the intersection with the traffic light one block over.

My 7yo child still hasn’t learned to ride on 2 wheels because our driveway isn’t big enough to get up enough momentum before getting too close to the drag strip of a street. It sucks but we have to load bikes in the car to get anywhere safe enough to practice.
