While there’s no release date yet for the service, Jackbox Games is hoping to bring a beta version to “one or two smart TV platforms” in spring this year. More platforms and features will then follow.

    I can’t imagine it will be free and actually useable in any form.

      Actually, that part I’m not worried about. Jackbox is one of my friends go-to end of party games. It’s all through your phone and accommodates a good amount of people, slightly game dependent.

        Right, but your friend purchased each game pack.

        It would be great if this app was just the game host, where you could link an account that has purchased the games and run them on the TV rather than hooking up a PC.

      It’s also entirely possible that you can’t host any of the games. If the host owns the game, anyone else can play for free through a browser. It could just be access to the jackbox.tv website from the TV itself.
