Ummm sorry to burst your bubble but bass literally is harmony. It provides harmonic and rhythmic support to the band or orchestra.

You can’t be harmony without an instrument unless you’re writing it, at which point the bass player would be the one to then deliver the harmony for all to enjoy. Very few appreciate the written harmonic notes compared to the audible harmonic notes.

Like, I kinda get when you’re trying to say but I figured I’d at least pass along that info so you can potentially revise your view on harmony and bass, or not. Obviously upto you. Stay safe out there please.
