This was high on my list of things Framework could make. Looks pretty promising, especially for a school laptop
I would love to see them try to tackle making a repairable / upgradeable tablet next
Well now I’m interested. 2 in 1’s are my go to these days. I don’t think I could go back.
edit: went to check the site… 17 minute wait time queue? Jfc really? A queue? For a website? In this economy?
A Linus tech tips video recently dropped about these laptops so TONs of people are going to the site. For such a small company they can only handle so much web traffic.
There is the exact same information in the title of this post as there is on the website. I sat through the wait. Don’t bother.
to bad. I was hoping for something more like the surface book where the screen is a tablet and the bottom has the external graphics card and more memory or such.
Same. I’ve been really hoping for a surface pro competitor especially from a Linux friendly company like Framework.
Still, this is a really good step in that direction.
They didn’t mention a price tag and their website currently has a waiting queue of ca. 2 hours I ’m not willing to wait in just to check a price. But the specs are … meh.
Especially the low-end screen is really disappointing. 1080p LED in 2025? I’ve seen printers with better screens!
I really hope they will release a proper display in the future (i.e. a minimum of 2K resolution, and – of course – OLED.)
There is no price on the website yet.
You can visit the site tomorrow when it isn’t as busy as today
