Do I understand correctly that a third of all servers went down in a single month? Is that a normal situation because of people self-hosting and losing interest again? Or should we be alarmed?
FediDB stopped crawling for a while to add support for robots.txt. The server drop-off is probably mostly because many are opting out of being crawled.
Looking at the graph, it might be that it is inaccurate starting data combined with a slow decline
