Hey all,

I got back from a few days out of town and my hot water wasn’t working.

The ventilation was blocked by over 4 feet of snow that drifted alongside my house completely blocking the exhaust vent.

Make sure to do a walkaround and check your laundry and exhaust vents!

Also make sure that your gas meter (if you have one) is accessible. If the gas needs to be shut off in an emergency, that’s where they do it from.

Mine were on the verge of getting covered as well as my neighbours. Always good to get this reminder before/after big snowfalls because it’s such an easy thing to forget to check!

Yep. This has never happened to me before (now I have a new winter chore to complete)

It was really easy to miss the issue because we’re tankless so you have to run the tap to get it to heat up sometimes, I thought it was just taking a long time until I heard an ugly noise downstairs.

The furnace has a larger exhaust snorkel thing, so the house itself was warm.

Mine uses my hot water as a heat source to heat the house. I need to replace the pipe. It’s too small and frosts over.
