It’s exactly the lenght of the bed so once the tailgate is closed it doesn’t get to move front or back. The horizontal 2x4’s have big bolts screwed into them thru 3 tie-down points on the side of the bed. Only screws holding any weight here are the ones going thru the vertical supports into the ends of the 2x4’s. As long as I don’t roll the truck I’m relatively confident that it’ll stay in place just fine.
