Summary

Progressive Democrats accused Donald Trump and Elon Musk of orchestrating a “constitutional crisis” after Musk moved to shut down USAID and gained access to a federal payment system.

Lawmakers, blocked from entering USAID’s headquarters, condemned Trump for granting Musk unchecked power over government functions.

Senator Elizabeth Warren warned that Musk’s involvement could trigger financial instability, while Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called it a “plutocratic coup.”

Isn’t it obvious that this administration is a government for the wealthy?

Americans are so out of touch… remember that some people that voted didn’t even know Biden dropped out.

I watch an ungodly amount of porn and still manage to do some basic keeping up on politics. The problem isn’t the other things people want to do, it’s that being up-to-date on politics is straight up a faux pas. Everyone can agree that our current government sucks, but start trying to tell the vast majority of people about anything specific, such as, I dunno, how Mitch McConnell stole Supreme Court appointments from Obama, their eyes glaze over. People think it’s cool to bitch about your own problems, but if you learn enough to do anything about it and advocate for political action, you become a tryhard.

but do you get your news from porn or from social media? because a disturbingly high proportion of the population gets their news almost exclusively through facebook, instagram, twitter, and reddit

          their eyes glaze over.

As someone who’s eyes glaze over, what should I be doing? I can’t vote McConnell out. I have a job and responsibilities to deal with just keeping myself alive so I can’t travel around protesting. I vote but my vote gets drowned out by the overwhelming majority of Republicans surrounding me. It’s overwhelming to think about.

The problem, IMHO, is Democrats are fractured. You think all Trump supporters like his policies on LGBTQ individuals? They still vote for him because ®. We need that level of votes, instead of staying home because they didn’t like Biden’s policy on Gaza. We need an anti-maga, something we can rally around. I’m partial to Antifa personally, we just need to make it an actual group. I’m sure the media will vilify it like they always do

I was thinking more along the lines of Biden pulling out all the stops with executive actions and eliminating the problem for good. Then bullying Congress into fixing the loopholes that allowed him to do that in the first place so it can’t happen again. But of course he’s a gutless coward who only took care of his own before he bounced.
