Not really. Going chronologically, it’s turtles, then this story, then homeschooling, prison escape, power plants, police corruption, tuberculosis, dolphins.
This is brand new as of right now, not really with any particular vibe to it that I know of. It started a few days ago from a conversation a few of us were having that there really isn’t a good place to put just miscellaneous news that’s US-specific. Lemmy.world, lemmy.ml, and midwest.social all have a big community for it but they also all have some kind of minor issues with the instances, so I decided to make this, and the consensus was to keep politics out of it which I was generally in favor of once I gave it some thought.
It’s just non-political-adjacent news only, to keep it from being overwhelmed by politics, since there’s already tons of US political news on Lemmy. It’s not that deep. 🙂
