I’m late, in my timezone I usually watch this during the day on my Friday. Sometimes I fall behind but always catch up by the WWE. But it’s been a while since I’ve done this so.
I think Frankie Kazarian might be my current favourite of the men’s roster. He cracks me up. If he’s slowly heading towards doing commentary (he’s been doing guest commentary a lot) in the future, I really hope that this trophy amounts to something and he gets a run with the world championship first.
That 5 minute Elegance segment went on for about 5 minutes longer than it needed to. Thank the gods Spitfire showed up. Jodi Threat fuckin rocks.
Fuck the System
Torn about Masha Slamovich vs Rosemary because I love both, but Slamovich needs a solid, dominant run and I doubt this is going Rosemary’s way. But also, I am so ready for Rosemary to be champion.
What happened to Killer Kelly? I miss her. And the weird slightly erotic, partnership / relationship thing she had going with Slamovich for a while made a lot more sense than Slamovich and Grace suddenly being BFFs out of the blue.
Loving Santana right now
Just got to main event, which I’ve been looking forward to. Gonna hit post now. Might edit but I’m sure it’ll be some variation of “fun match!”
Edit: what’s the consensus on Tessa Blanchard. I don’t follow the drama and politics of wrestling but I know that she was in disgrace at one point. What’s the word these days? Has she apologized for past actions and shit?
Last I can find, she’s under contract until Augustish. Scratch that, that updates from Mayish, just found a September update, she is apparently pregnant! So she was taking some time off and not being factored into creative, got preggers and now is…well idk if contracts get frozen/extended due to pregnancy but I have to figure this would carry her to the end.
She supposedly apologized privately to La Rosa Negra (by Negra’s own word) not that long after the whole stink originally came out way back when, but she’s also done/said bigoted/bullying things to many other women before and after that and has to this day buried her head in the sand acting like she did nothing wrong and refuses to address any of it.
It was probably addressed internally with management when she re-signed (I’d have to assume), but there has also still been no apology/acknowledgement/etc of her actions to the fans/co-workers in holding up the Impact belts in Mexico and refusing to work with the company (the actions that led to her being fired and stripped of the title back at the start of the pandemic).
So we’re basically in the “Why the fuck is she here? Is TNA this stupid…still?” phase, a small contingent of people (like Moose being the loudest one) wanna welcome her back cause he too is a shit person, most (like Grace, and Deonna in AEW/Chelsea Green in WWE) would prefer she just fuck off back to Mexico doing bingo halls that look like something outta From Dusk Till Dawn.
And either way we all get another year of being able to go LOLTNA!
Damn I wonder if Killer Kelly will be back any time soon, I guess not. Way back when she was originally supposed to sign and had more of a kickboxer gimmick, there were visa issues or some shit. Then finally, after a couple of years I think, had this short but cool run and now this. I mean, good for her and all that shit though.
And yeah, I had a feeling that this was still the deal with Tessa. That’s sucks and definitely makes me a bit uncomfortable watching. Sounds like their biggest wtf move since Alberto Del Rio. And makes the aggression from Grace look so much more real, which is probably what they’re going for but still, wtf.
The reason I solely watch TNA these days is that it’s just big enough to showcase NXT wrestlers and have people like Okada dropping by for a month out of the blue; but with low online engagement, so I can have a relatively smark free view of things, like before I cursed myself with Wreddit so long ago. And it leaves room to squeeze a couple more obsessions in. So it fucking sucks that they’re doing stupid controversial shit like this.
Doubt it. Assuming conception was in August, the month before the announcement, May-June would be birth, and she’s taking at least a few months off post birth for recovery/training/bonding with the lil cunt lol/etc. End of the year best case scenario.
Oh for sure. The heat is legit there, she was reported as not wanting to do this story and trying to get out of it (but I mean when you got a foot out the door you also end up having to grin and bear it as she is now), but as long as both remaining professional, that just makes the feud better cause they can lean into it.
As for TNA in general…yeah. Broken record over here but they fucking built up so much good will, everyone was loving em, things were going great, the NJ relationship was mended, the AEW one was ok enough (Scott insists it was great and did what they wanted, so I’ll defer to him), the TNA name came back and everything was coming up Milhouse and then a gigantic wet fart lol.
I’m still just positive Anthem had decided internally that they want out of the wrestling game but wants the most money out of it, which is why they chose not to sell to Scott, and got rid of him to facilitate a smoother transition to WWE eventually outright buying and absorbing them. (but I’m also high so~)
Yeah honestly the AEW thing was kind of a big LOLTNA moment for me right at the end. At the very least, even if it had to be Christian next in line, it should’ve happened on Impact. It was like a year long build up, the question of who would finally beat Kenny Omega and get the rub, and the answer to that question turned out to be no one on the TNA roster but instead another AEW wrestler on AEW. I know that Christian did his time in TNA for a little bit after that but I didn’t see it because I actually stopped watching for a little while.
If this actually is TNA in its dying days for real this time, I guess I might as well as the shitshow through, seeing as I’ve been here this long. I wouldn’t be against switching over to NXT for what I need from pro wrestling if it goes that way.
This is why I watch Japanese wrestling. Least the shitshows are more spreadout lmao.
