“We will urge U.S. forces in Japan to tighten discipline and fully implement preventive measures,” Hayashi, who serves as chief cabinet secretary, told a press conference.

The case is the latest in a series of violent attacks on women and the accused has been referred to prosecutors, according to an investigative source.

Under the Japan-U.S. Status of Forces Agreement, U.S. military personnel will in principle remain in the custody of the United States until being charged by Japan, unless they are arrested at the scene of a crime.

Because they’re the most powerful military on the planet and their allies want to work together.

Foreign military bases in the US have no strategic value.

It doesn’t seem like good strategic value to let a single “ally” hold all of the military power either, though.

The US gets to throw its geopolitical weight around and dictate to other countries whatever they want because their military is everywhere and because “What are you going to do about it?” Why shouldn’t the military relationship between US and other countries be more reciprocal?

Why would usa even accept those terms? Literally no reason to and their allies don’t have much choice.

Why? Because the US needs to respect the sovereignty of other countries. If they want bases outside of their borders, it should come with a reciprocal agreement for the allied nation to create a base within the US.

          America is the threat.

Lol they literally don’t have to. Its military, morals and ideal world doesn’t exist here. I am not talking about how it should be but the reality where they don’t have a single reason to consider that.
