More like the professional wrestling way… AEW’s brought in and used even if just briefly a number of old acts. Gangrel, Arn, Steamboat, Bret Hart, Sting, Jake Roberts, Tully, Flair, has Edge and Jericho doing matches, has Jeff Jarrett in his retirement tour… hell they even had Vicki Guerrero for a bit there… the industry and fans both just love some nostalgia it seems.
