Scores of Chinese construction workers were rescued from slavery-like conditions at a BYD factory site in Brazil, according to authorities. BYD plans to terminate its contract with Jinjiang Construction.

The Chinese cars are so cheap because 1) government support and 2) they invested an absolute shit ton into the industrial infrastructure to support that shit. The second one is the single most significant reason why they are so much cheaper than western EVs.
