    Looks like shopping parts from half-functional stored materiel to create functional weapons systems. If this is an indicator of the state of Russian weapons production it indicates that stockpiles are starting to run low for real.

    We’ve seen them deploy ever-older generations of refurbished tanks, and now it looks like we’re seeing a situation where they’re struggling to find enough vehicles that can be refurbished as-is, so they’re resorting to putting together two vehicles from stock to get one working system.

    This could be some genius move, but if they were capable of producing or refurbishing enough SPG’s directly, I don’t think we would be seeing this kind of innovation.
