I’ve been reading very much just e-books on an ereader for the last few years (so all my Brando Sando books were read on that) and while I knew the SA books are definitely in the “big-to-huge” category page-count wise, it didn’t connect at all how absolutely totally humongous at least the Wind And Truth is!
If I haven’t read the ebook already I might have gotten too scared by the size haha.

WaT with an almost standard sized lightbulb for scale. Behind the book is a board game box.

PS: I’ve kind of skimmed past the Rosharan map in the ebooks, the page was either not there at all or didn’t render properly and looking at the properly sized one in the book now… color me facepalming all over the place, with a lot of oohs and uuhs as two years of SA knowledge have realigned with the proper headings and cardinal directions.

PPS: I’ve really missed the smell of books.

Every SA book has been longer than the previous one, and I think Sanderson mentioned that the Rythm of War paperback, at the time when it released, was pushing the limit of thickness that the publisher was able to print. These are chonky books indeed.

The real reason for the wait before books 6-10 is so that publishers have enough time to invent new printing technologies to handle even thicker books

I’ve never seen a hardcover book with pages this thin. Reminds me of the old yellow pages books.

Damn! I also only use an ebook and thought about buying this book in print to read instead. That just looks like it would be unwieldy to hold when reading. I would have turned around and bought the ebook.
