I really don’t know why people buy ultrawide. All I see are issues with games not supporting it. It’s like buying something just to complain about it being useless.

I’ve never had issues with it.

Works great in stellaris, factorio, baldurs gate 3, and darktide. The only game I’ve had a real issue with is elden ring where you cannot simultaneously have ultrawide enabled and be able to play online without getting banned

Depends on the game, I have to admit most of my games are not fps or third person shooters, which I guess would have most issues. For strategy games it’s just so nice to see wider area, especially with some grand strategy games with plenty of UI elements.

Worst experience I’ve had has been with the occasional shooter games with bad support where the fov might look a bit strange. But if the game doesn’t support ultrawide resolutions, I don’t really care because then you just play with 16:9 resolution which would be the alternative anyway.

Sure if games are the only reason you buy an ultrawide monitor, then you might not get the full benefit.

Yeah, that’s a big issue with gaming on ultrawide. Even many graphics-focused games have middling support for ultrawide formats.
