Lead acid batteries aren’t nearly as spicy as lithium-ion ones. The acid inside is diluted and is easily cleaned up if spilled. But there’s no chance of combustion or expolsion.
I would not call the acid diluted just because it is not concentrated. It is extremely acidic and will absolutely destroy you and many other things. It also does not evaporate, once it is somewhere it either reacts or stays there.
Unless a Lithium battery actually burns it is far less of a hazard.
