Donald Trump reiterated his opposition to the sale of United States Steel Corp. to Nippon Steel Corp., saying he’d instead use tariffs and tax incentives to revive the American steelmaker.
He already did tariffs on steel in his first term and here we are with US Steel being sold to a Japanese company because the American company refused to keep up with technological advances and stick to their old practices due to greed and keeping up with the shareholders.
Tariffs won’t fix a damn thing when the problem is American, ultra capitalistic companies focus on shareholder value vs actual product quality and engineering.
