People think they can somehow thread the needle by voting for climate initiatives and abortion protections so that electing a fascist for reasons doesn’t impact the liberal issues they believe in. They think they’re going to get the best of both worlds, some sort of poorly evaluated economic benefit, while not having to worry about the (shockingly few) issues they worry about under a far-right regime.

apathetic white folk are apathetic because no one taught them fascism is real and enduring. black diasporas to urban centers and white flight to the suburbs have created an environment where they don’t understand that the consequences of what is happening are real. it’s not some made up shit. the constant stream of right wing media doesn’t feel right wing to them. it feels like the truth. it is the truth they know. right now, we need to reach them. we need to break containment of our media bubbles and reach show them we exist, and we fear them, before we lose the chance to do so. and we can’t do it through our screens. we’re going to have to take to the streets and show them the truth. if you’re a white man and you feel how i do right now, start paying attention in public spaces: where are the security cameras. where do the police frequently hang out. what are the movements around you. get that info to people with less privilege than you. pay attention to street art. where does it stay up long term, where does it get taken down fast? is there a difference depending on the kind of street art it is?
