Americans are so propogandized, you can offer a conservative free endless clean energy from the actual, already-existing sun and they’ll say no. It’s embarrassingly pathetic.

I really detest making scientific fact a political football. Even more so when people’s lives are seriously affected…or ended.

This is horrible but Im really curious if they try to put some sort of rationale around it or just state it and if there is a rationale I sorta want to know what the mental gymnastics of that is. Only thing I can think of is stuff around why they are not perfect.

They are meant to take it uncritically. Their information sources have trained them with a constant barrage of unfounded and often conflicting statements to just not think about what they’re told.

I did work at Big Bend generating station in Apollo Beach across the bay from Tampa about 15 years ago. Anyone living in Apollo Beach would call bullshit on that.

The beach used to have a thick black line at the high tide level where coal dust blown from the coal piles would settle, and if the FGD system was down, acidic fly-ash would settle on cars and burn through the paint. And that’s before even discussing the 12MT/yr CO2 emissions at its peak.

I get exploitative politicians leveraging controversy and taking an opposite stance (like mocking the creation of the space force) But is it really going to help him to argue that clean renewable energy is not clean ? Are there enough people that would fall for it?
