10 interesting historical facts about Ukraine that may shock you:

  1. Southern Ukraine was the colony of ancient Greece. In particular, Olvia Pontiyska, Chersonesus and many others - this is about Ukraine :) I personally do not know, but it seems to me that the name Odysseus and the city of Odesa are connected) I should note that there were several Chersonesians.

  2. The legendary Amazons (warrior women) lived on the territory of Ukraine. There are several theories as to who they were, but all archaeological excavations are found in Ukraine. Until recently, it was believed that the Amazons are a myth, since they could not find historical confirmation of their existence, but they have already found it ;)

  3. Aryans, whom Hitler dreamed of, migrated through the territory of Ukraine, stopping for a long period in Ukraine. They are credited with many contributions to Ukraine, but it is difficult to determine which is fact and which is legend. According to scientific data, Ukrainians and Hindus are the descendants of Aryans (DNA test). This explains why Hitler stole so many symbols of Ukrainian paganism. At first, Hitler even tried not to destroy the Ukrainians, especially since the Ukrainians considered him a liberator, because the crimes of Russia were terrible, and Hitler had not yet committed any crimes. But because of Ukrainians’ desire for independence, he started a war against the Ukrainian people.

  4. The Ukrainian language comes from the oldest language in the world - Sanskrit, and still has many common words.

  5. The founder of Kyiv - Kyi was a commander in Attila’s camp. Knyaz Yaroslav the Wise married his sisters, brothers, daughters and sons to the rulers of almost all of Europe, which is why he was nicknamed the father-in-law of Europe. Danylo Halytskyi, who is the founder of Lviv, was the first king of Kyivan Rus. He was crowned by the Pope. Before that, the rulers of Kyivan Rus had the title of knyaz. The ancestors of the Slavs were the Vikings, who founded their own race, one might say, but, to be more precise, an ethnic type :)

  6. Ukraine saved Europe several times. The first salvation was stopping and then defeating the Golden Horde. Next, the Ukrainians, together with the Poles, saved Europe twice - when Russia was planning campaigns in Europe. The first time was the time of the Russian Empire, the Hetmanship and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and the second time it was independent Ukraine under the leadership of Simon Petlyura and Poland against Russia. Ukrainians also made the greatest contribution to the defeat of the 3rd Reich. It was the Ukrainians who suffered the greatest losses in the war and it was the Ukrainians who raised the flag in Berlin. In addition, many cases are known when Ukrainian rulers saved the royal dynasties of Europe during riots, in particular, even when the enemy state threatened to declare war on those who would accept them.

  7. Ukrainian woman - A sexy slave who was kidnapped by the Turks during raids on Ukrainian villages, thanks to her positive attitude, won the heart of the sultan and became his wife, and after his death ruled the Ottoman Empire. Her name is Roksolana.

  8. The world’s first Constitution was created in Ukraine. In addition, the world’s first democracy was also in Ukraine. So far, no one has surpassed the ideal democratic system of the Hetmanate. In addition, Ukrainian Cossacks made many technological inventions that the world did not know at that time - these are submarines, firearms and many others.

  9. Ivan Sirko - Ukrainian chieftain, the most famous khahrakternik. Kharakhterniks are a group of Ukrainian werewolf Cossacks. Enemies claimed that they simply turned into beasts on the battlefield, were impervious to bullets and impossible to kill. Whether this is a truth or a legend is unknown, but it was recorded in historical sources, which started a whole cult of stories about Ukrainian werewolves) By the way, Ivan Sirko fought a lot of battles and did not lose a single battle. There are known facts where he and an army of 100 Cossacks defeated armies of thousands, and in the most famous battle against the Turks, almost none of the Turks were able to escape, which makes us believe in the veracity of the legend)

  10. Moscow was founded by the Ukrainian prince Yury Dovhoruky. Ukraine has already defeated Russia many times in wars, in several battles Ukraine even captured Moscow. The largest number of such wars occurred during the Hetmanate period. Although the chronicles say that Kievan Rus also fought against the Moscow principality and even captured the Moscow principality. Muscovites paid tribute to the Kiev prince, and then wanted autonomy. Ukraine gave autonomy to the Moscow principality, but they were immediately occupied by the Golden Horde, where they were slaves. The Golden Horde and the Crimean Khanate humiliated the Russian rulers. Russian tsars followed the horses of their rulers on foot, constantly knelt before them, etc. And Russia is a stolen name from Kyivan Rus. Ashamed of their own history, the Russians decided to simply steal the name and history for the sake of authority in Europe.

Atleast Indian nationalists gloat about stuff that’s actually Indian. Ukrainian nationalists just randomly claim random shit from around the world to be Ukrainian or just make it up.
