on a post in r/houston about some dipshit who saw a work truck with a russsian flag and Z decal and wanting to do redditor style investigations into them
Liberals
Azov using an actual swastika: It’s just a cultural thing
Z and a Russian flag:OMG Nazis among us
that Z is half a swastika
Glances at my elementary mathematics textbook chapter on addition
Oh shit. Oh fuck.
I really don’t want to know what this guy thinks about sleeping people going “Zzz”
whoah buddy that’s 1.5 swastikas worth of the letter that shall not be named!!!1
Do these idiots literally just ignore the nazi symbols used constantly by the Ukraine military or something?
Depending on their mood or the point they’re trying to argue against, those symbols can be
- Totally different from Nazi symbols, they’re ancient runes (that are not from Ukraine, but ah well nevertheless)
- Definitely Nazi symbols, but only for the purpose of “trolling” the Russians who lost millions to the Nazis (which includes the Ukrainians lost, but a lot of those were undesirables so ah well nevertheless)
- One or two bad apples, what are they going to do ban using Nazi symbols in their military? (which other western militaries do, but ah well nevertheless)
I saw a lot of enlightened geopolitics experts on Twitter arguing that it was totally German and Scandinavian religious icons, nothing with Nazism pinky swear
An excuse I hear a lot lately is that they just use nazi iconography to own Russia so it’s fine
They know absolutely nothing about Ukraine. In particular, they nothing about Ukraine’s long history of using antisemitic violence to protect the rich.
Tbf wielding the Z symbol is cringe and possibly an uncritical endorsement of Vladimir Putin thought
It’s Texas, every 20th truck has six Trump/punisher/q anon flags mounted in the bed. The Z is less cringe than any of those and none of these redditors is worried about “what’s going on”
Ehhhhhhh
cringe
Sure, I’ll bite
uncritical endorsement of Vladimir Putin thought
Not 100% sure about this one
Someone’s going to get hate-crimed for a Zelda tattoo.
And this is from just 4 years ago
bits about turning the racism dial before an audience are becoming reality.
Dril bits.
