Its like Hillary walking into a working class kitchen for the first time.

They’ve been shielded from even critical support of China and other AES for so long they literally, not figuratively, literally cannot process that people exist that have beliefs that aren’t Reddit Approved. They immediately assume it’s bots or wumao. Human beings can’t possibly hold these beliefs, so they must be Oriental hordes or actual robots.

    Its quite common. The mods for r/Afghanistan consists of

    1: the Westminster Institute’s Reddit account, a pro US think tank

    2: the Hoover Institution’s Reddit account, a conservative think tank that had Margaret Thatcher as a guest contributor and honorary fellow

    3: Foreign Affairs Reddit account, yet another pro US think tank that justifies US policy in Latin America

    4: American Security Project, a US NGO

    And previously they had a Hindu ultranationalist that ended up getting banned or something for being too islamaphohic
